Downtown Miami towers lit at night behind a causeway, reflected in the calm water of Biscayne Bay

At midnight on December 31, the sky over Biscayne Bay lights up. Most people watch from a crowded park or a packed rooftop. You can watch it from the deck of your own yacht, with your own crew, your own music and a glass of champagne in hand.

New Year’s Eve is the most requested night of the year for private yachts in Miami, and the best ones are spoken for early. If you want the right yacht, the right dock and the right plan, start now. Message us and a real person answers within 15 minutes, 24/7.

Why spend New Year’s Eve on a private yacht in Miami

  • The best seat in the city. The downtown skyline in front of you, the fireworks above you and their reflection on the water below. No lines, no crowd standing in front of you.
  • Only your people on board. A private charter means your group alone, never a shared cruise with strangers.
  • No traffic at midnight. Roads and bridges around downtown Miami and Miami Beach are packed on New Year’s Eve. On the water you skip all of it, and a car waits at the dock when you come back.
  • The night your way. Dinner on board or before you sail, your playlist, champagne at the countdown and a crew that looks after every detail.

Where the yacht watches the fireworks

Miami’s official New Year’s Eve celebration takes place at Bayfront Park in downtown Miami, with fireworks fired over Biscayne Bay at midnight. Last year’s edition, Countdown at Miami, ran from 5:00 PM on December 31, 2025 to 2:00 AM on January 1, 2026. The 2026 program had not been announced when we wrote this guide, so we confirm the details for your night as soon as they are published.

Miami Beach usually celebrates too. Last year the City of Miami Beach launched fireworks from the Lummus Park beachfront at 11:59 PM, on the ocean side of the island.

Your captain chooses where the yacht waits for midnight, based on the published fireworks plan, the weather and the sea that night. Three things to know before you sail:

  1. Speed limits on the bay. Every year, from 9:00 PM on December 31 to 2:00 AM on January 1, the Coast Guard enforces a regulated navigation area on Biscayne Bay from the Julia Tuttle Causeway south. All vessels must stay at 15 knots or less and follow the instructions of law enforcement on the water.
  2. Safety zones around the fireworks. The Coast Guard can close the water around a fireworks barge. Your yacht stays outside any zone, at a distance that still gives you the full view.
  3. The captain has the final word. If the wind or the sea change, the captain adjusts the position or the route. Safety comes first, and we tell you honestly what is possible.

How the night runs

Every charter is planned around your group. A typical New Year’s Eve looks like this:

  1. Boarding. The crew welcomes you at the marina or at the private dock of your villa. Drinks are poured before you leave the dock.
  2. The cruise. You sail along the skyline while the city lights come on. Dinner is served on board, or you board after dinner at a table we booked for you.
  3. The countdown. The yacht settles into position before midnight. Champagne is ready, the music is yours, and the fireworks fill the sky over the bay.
  4. The return. The captain brings you back calmly after the show. Your chauffeur is waiting at the dock, so no one looks for a ride at 1:00 AM.

Want to keep going after midnight? We can hold a table or a VIP night for after you land. See our nightlife access service.

Choosing your yacht for New Year’s Eve

December nights on the water can be cooler than you expect. For New Year’s Eve, look for an inside salon or a sky lounge, a large flybridge or upper deck for the fireworks, and a crew that has done this night before.

Yachts we know well include the 116′ Pershing GTX, the tri-deck 118′ Azimut with its sky lounge, the 88′ Sirena and the 85′ Astondoa. For a bigger statement, ask about superyacht charters. We also source other private crewed yachts on request. Tell us your group and your style, and we match the yacht that is free on December 31.

Rates on request. New Year’s Eve is quoted for your exact night: the yacht, the hours, the boarding point and anything you add. See all luxury yacht charters in Miami.

New Year’s Eve for larger groups

Bringing the whole family, your friends or your team? For groups of 13 or more, we arrange larger licensed vessels, inspected and certified by the U.S. Coast Guard for your group size. For some groups, two yachts cruising together is the better plan, with one concierge coordinating both.

How many guests a yacht may carry is set by its Coast Guard status, not by its length or deck space. The Coast Guard advises anyone paying for a charter with more than six passengers to ask for the vessel’s Coast Guard Certificate of Inspection, or proof that it meets the rules for uninspected passenger vessels. We check this for you before you book. See our large group yacht charters.

Make it a full New Year’s week

The yacht is the highlight of the night. We take care of the rest of the week too:

When to book, and what to send us

Book as early as you can. The best yachts for December 31 are usually reserved months in advance, and the holiday weeks around Christmas fill up fast too. Booking in October or November gives you the widest choice.

To get real options within 15 minutes, send us:

  1. Your group size, and whether children will be on board.
  2. Where you are staying, so we can plan boarding at a marina or your villa dock.
  3. Dinner on board or before you sail.
  4. The mood of the night: a quiet family countdown, an elegant dinner or a celebration with music.
  5. Anything else for the week: villa, chef, cars or tables.

We come back with available yachts and rates for your night. When you confirm, one concierge stays with you from the first message to the ride home.

New Year's Eve yacht charter Miami: FAQ

Can we see the fireworks from a yacht in Miami?

Yes. Miami's official fireworks are fired over Biscayne Bay from Bayfront Park at midnight, and a yacht on the bay has one of the clearest views in the city. Your captain positions the yacht outside any Coast Guard safety zone, based on the published plan and the conditions that night.

When should we book a New Year's Eve yacht in Miami?

As early as possible. December 31 is the most requested night of the year, and the best yachts are usually reserved months ahead. October and November give you the widest choice. Message us and we tell you within 15 minutes what is still open.

How much does a New Year's Eve yacht charter cost in Miami?

Rates on request. The rate depends on the yacht, the hours, the boarding point and what you add, such as dinner or decorations. We send a written quote for your exact night, with no surprises.

Can you arrange a New Year's Eve yacht for more than 12 guests?

Yes. For groups of 13 or more, we arrange larger licensed vessels, inspected and certified by the U.S. Coast Guard for your group size. Two yachts cruising together is another option, with one concierge coordinating both.

Can the yacht pick us up at our villa?

Often, yes. If your villa has a private dock with enough water depth and a clear route to the bay, the yacht can board you at the back door. We confirm it with the captain before you book. Most of our homes are off-market and shown only on request, and some have a dock.

What happens if the weather is bad on New Year's Eve?

The captain decides what is safe. If wind or sea conditions change, the yacht may watch from a more sheltered spot or adjust the timing. We explain the options before you book and keep you updated on the day.

Can you plan dinner and the ride home too?

Yes. We can serve dinner on board, book a table before you sail and have your chauffeur waiting at the dock after midnight. One concierge handles the whole night.

Is there a minimum charter time on New Year's Eve?

Minimums vary by yacht, and New Year's Eve is quoted for your exact night. Send your group size and the hours you want, and we reply within 15 minutes with options.

Who is on board on New Year's Eve?

Your group only, with the yacht's licensed captain and crew. A private chef can join for dinner on request, and your chauffeur waits at the dock after midnight.

Can you also arrange a villa for New Year's week?

Yes. See our Christmas and New Year villas. Minimum stays vary by home and dates, and the days from Christmas to New Year's Day book early.

What if we decide late?

Message us anyway. Holiday yachts book early, but we check what is still open and reply within 15 minutes with options.
