Watch the Winterfest Boat Parade on December 12, 2026 from your own private yacht in Fort Lauderdale. Crewed charter, villa and driver arranged. Rates on request.

Sunset over the Las Olas bridge, marina and skyline in Fort Lauderdale

Every December, Fort Lauderdale turns its waterways into a stage. The Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade sends a line of lit and decorated boats, from private yachts to large showboats, along the New River and up the Intracoastal Waterway. It is the traditional start of the holiday season in South Florida, and it is best seen from the water.

On Saturday, December 12, 2026, you can watch it from the deck of your own private yacht, with your own crew, a chef’s dinner and only your people on board. The best yachts and the best positions for that night are requested early. Message us and a real person answers within 15 minutes, 24/7.

The 2026 parade at a glance

  • Date: Saturday, December 12, 2026. This is the 55th annual parade.
  • Time: the parade starts at 6:00 PM in downtown Fort Lauderdale, with a pre-show of non-motorized vessels at 5:30 PM.
  • Route: it stages on the New River near Stranahan House, travels east along the New River to the Intracoastal Waterway, then north along the Intracoastal. About 12 miles in total.
  • Length: organizers say it takes about two and a half hours to watch from one spot, since the start time staggers as the boats move north.
  • On shore: the official viewing area is at Las Olas Intracoastal Promenade Park, where the parade is expected around 6:30 PM.

Organizers note that parade dates can change, so we confirm the final schedule with you before the night. Future dates already announced: December 11, 2027.

Why watch the parade from a private yacht

  • No crowds, no parking. Organizers expect very large crowds along the route, and parking near Las Olas is very limited that night. On the water, you skip all of it.
  • Your own space. A private charter means your group alone, never a shared cruise with strangers.
  • Dinner with a view. A chef on board or a catered dinner served while the lit boats pass.
  • Warm inside, open outside. December evenings on the water can feel cool. Choose a yacht with an indoor salon and an open upper deck, so guests can move between the two.
  • A holiday tradition for the family. Children and grandparents love the lights. It is one of the easiest ways to start the season together.

Where the yacht waits

The parade route runs through busy, narrow waterways, and parade night comes with safety rules for boat traffic set by the authorities. Your captain plans the position based on those rules, the route and the weather, so the yacht waits safely where the view is good.

Three things guests often ask:

  1. Can we join the parade? Parade entries register with the organizers well in advance. We arrange a yacht to watch it, not to enter it.
  2. Will we see the whole parade? From one position you see the full line of boats pass, which takes about two and a half hours.
  3. What if the weather turns? The captain has the final word on safety. If the wind or water changes, the plan changes with it.

How the evening runs

  1. Boarding in the late afternoon at a Fort Lauderdale marina or at the private dock of your villa, with drinks ready.
  2. Sunset on the Intracoastal while the yacht moves into position.
  3. The parade. Lit boats, music and the lights of the waterfront homes along the route.
  4. Dinner on board before, during or after, as you prefer.
  5. Back to the dock with a driver waiting, so nobody thinks about the roads.

Want to continue the night? We reserve a table on Las Olas Boulevard or in Fort Lauderdale beach for after the parade. See restaurant reservations.

Choosing the yacht

For parade night we look for a yacht with a comfortable indoor salon, a large upper deck or flybridge for the view, and a crew that knows the Fort Lauderdale waterways at night. Yachts we know well include the Pershing GTX 116′, the three-deck Azimut 118′, the Sirena 88′ and the Astondoa 85′, plus larger superyachts on request. Availability for Fort Lauderdale on that date is confirmed when you ask. Rates on request.

See all options on our Fort Lauderdale yacht charter page and the main yacht charter page.

Larger groups

For groups of 13 or more, we arrange larger licensed vessels inspected and certified by the U.S. Coast Guard. Another option is two yachts that cruise together, with one concierge coordinating both. We check the vessel’s Coast Guard certificate for you before booking. See yacht charters for larger groups.

Make it a holiday weekend

The parade falls on a Saturday, so it is easy to build a full weekend around it:

When to book and what to send

As early as you can. December 12 is one of the most requested nights of the year on Fort Lauderdale water, and the yachts with the best layout for an evening go first. Send us:

  • your group size, and whether children are coming
  • where you are staying, or whether you need a villa
  • dinner on board or ashore
  • the mood of the evening: family, friends, clients
  • anything else you need for the weekend
