A yacht day is the part of a Miami trip most guests remember first. The water is calm in the bay, the skyline is right there and you can swim, eat and relax without anyone else around. LUXTERIA Concierge • Miami plans yacht days every week, and this is how a good one usually runs, from Miami Beach or from Fort Lauderdale.

Morning: boarding

  • Choose where to board. Most of our days start from a marina in Miami Beach or downtown Miami. Groups staying farther north can board in Fort Lauderdale.
  • Arrive on time. A driver brings the group to the marina, so nobody looks for parking. See chauffeur and airport day.
  • Meet the crew. The captain explains the plan for the day and the safety basics, and the crew settles everyone in.

Late morning: cruising the bay

The first part of the day is an easy cruise across Biscayne Bay. You pass the islands, the waterfront homes and the port, with the skyline behind you. It is the best time for photos while the light is soft.

Midday: the sandbar and a swim

Around midday the yacht anchors at a sandbar or a quiet spot in the bay. The water is shallow and clear, and guests swim, float or just sit on the deck. See Miami sunset and sandbar yacht for more about this part of the day.

Lunch on board

Lunch can be simple or a full meal. Tell us what your group likes and any dietary needs, and we arrange catering or a private chef on board. Drinks, fruit and snacks are set up before you board.

Afternoon: more water time

After lunch some groups stay at anchor, and others cruise to a second spot or along the coast of Miami Beach. Ask us which yacht carries which toys, since every yacht is set up differently.

Sunset: back by the skyline

The best way to end the day is a slow cruise back as the sun goes down behind the city. Many guests book dinner in town after, and we can hold the table and send the driver to the marina. See restaurant reservations.

Half day or full day?

  • Half day suits a first time on the water, or a day with other plans.
  • Full day gives you the cruise, the sandbar, lunch and sunset without rushing.
  • Rates on request. They depend on the yacht, the date and the length of the day.

Pair it with a villa

Many guests book the yacht as part of a villa stay. Some waterfront homes have a dock, so the yacht can pick you up at the house. Off-market homes are available on request. See villa and yacht package and our villas.
