What it is like
Coconut Grove is one of Miami's oldest neighborhoods, on Biscayne Bay just south of Brickell. It is green and laid back, with a thick tree canopy, bayfront parks, Dinner Key marinas and a village center of restaurants and shops.
The homes
Homes include historic houses, gated estates on large wooded lots and modern builds, some directly on the bay. Many sit behind hedges on quiet lanes.
Privacy and access
Dense landscaping and long driveways make many Grove homes hard to see from the road. Some streets and enclaves are gated.
By boat
Dinner Key and the other Grove marinas are among the busiest on the bay, so boarding a yacht here is simple, with Key Biscayne and Stiltsville close by.
Getting around
