What it is like
Indian Creek Village is a tiny incorporated island in Biscayne Bay, north of Miami Beach, with a private country club at its center and a few dozen estates around the edge. It is among the most private addresses in Miami.
The homes
The estates are very large waterfront properties on the ring road, most with private docks and extensive grounds. Homes on the island itself are almost never offered for short stays.
Privacy and access
One bridge leads onto the island and it is guarded. The village has its own police force, including patrols on the water.
By boat
Estates face the bay on every side. Haulover Inlet, the nearest route to the open ocean, is a short run north, with the Haulover sandbar close by.
Getting around
- Bal Harbour Shops: about 5 minutes by car
- South Beach: about 20 to 25 minutes
- Miami International Airport (MIA): about 30 to 40 minutes
- Fort Lauderdale airport (FLL): about 35 to 45 minutes
Typical drive times outside rush hour. Causeway traffic and bridge openings can add time.
